Known Issues
This is a list of issues we know about, but for various reasons we are currently unable to do anything about them, and most likely they won't be fixed.
General
"Server does not support seeking" error when un-pausing playback from a live stream
It is not to possible to pause and un-pause a live stream, because you cannot seek when playing a live stream. Currently, the workaround is to use stop instead of pause when playing a live stream. A long term fix would be to improve GStreamer so it can read the HTTP headers to check whether the stream is a live stream or not.
Linux
Strawberry does not respect Qt style, KDE theme or icons.
See FAQ
macOS
There currently isn't any macOS developers working on Strawberry, so these specific macOS issues won't be solved any time soon.
Bad performance and high CPU usage
Generally Strawberry performs much slower on macOS than Linux and Windows. The bug is most likely in Qt.
Some things you can try to improve the performance:
- Turn off the Analyzer by right clicking on the bar area between the play buttons and the colume control and selecting "No analyzer".
- Turn off "Show a glowing animation on the currently playing track" option in the playlist settings will help.
Context (right-click) menus don't close when minimizing Strawberry
This is a macOS specific Qt bug. A developer with macOS needs to report this as a bug to Qt, but we currently have no active macOS contributors.
Playlist scrolling is slow and uses high CPU

Windows
No support for devices
Strawberry is missing the "backend" for listing devices on Windows, no contributors have been willing to work on it so far.
No support for CD playback
This is most likely a GStreamer restriction, CD playback with GStreamer does not work on Windows.
